I enjoy this author's books because she uses data and statistics to explore the world around us. While it is not an objective book—it is still subjective—she carefully selects topics to cover and interprets results. Either positively or negatively.

I found the author approach to explaining data compelling, especially regarding pregnancy. She covers everything from the effects of coming off birth control to the changing odds of conception based on age and the number of attempts. She also discusses home births, epidurals, episiotomies, and other pregnancy aspects, including ultrasounds and predicting Down syndrome or the gender of the baby. These topics are interesting because, if I have questions, I can refer back to this book for information.

I rate the impact of this book on Mr a 4 on 5 because it helps me make informed decisions for my family.
