I absolutely really loved this book. It's a great follow-up to my earlier favorite, "How to Talk so Kids Will Listen". Like the previous book, it covers empathy and joint problem-solving. What I really appreciate is the focus on behavior versus personality. It suggests a person is good at heart, even if they occasionally act out. This is a valuable lesson for parents. It reminds us that perfect parenting isn't always possible, but knowing how to mend mistakes and bond again with our kids is crucial.

This book also ties in with concepts from "The Silent Guides" and "The Chimp Paradox", discussing how a child's emotional brain develops faster than their cognitive abilities and self-regulation. It has guided me in helping my child regulate emotions and approach them with a Montessori mindset. This involves supporting them in their struggles and learning, rather than just fixing their problems for them. This book is so informative, I'm already on my second read.
