Book Review: 2/5 Impact On Me (Book By Michael Port)

This book is very popular, but I found it hard to learn from. Matthew Dick's "Storyworthy" is better for telling stories. For office presentations and influencing colleagues, "Made to Stick" by the Heath Brothers is a better choice. This book offers summarized tips for presenting and performing in front of people. It suggests that we're always judged by others for our actions. The book aims to be relevant, but I struggled to get value from it.

It advises to 'fake it till you make it' for confidence. It covers the 'yes and' method from improv. The book emphasizes walking and talking, not hiding behind a podium. It stresses practicing enough to not rely on slides. It also points out that your presentation starts when the conference host announces you, highlighting the importance of a proper introduction and correct pronunciation of your name.

I read this book first in 2019 and again in 2024. I faced difficulties both times.
